How do you install a pulse dimmer?

You bought our pulse dimmer or you are interested/curious on how to install it? In this blog, we explain to you exactly how to install our pulse dimmer! At the very bottom of the blog, you can even find a link to our instructional video to make it even easier.

Safety first: always switch off the power in the meter box before installing. This dimmer is NOT suitable for 12V halogen lamps combined with an iron wire wound transformer. The warranty is void if this combination is made anyway!

Instructions for installation:

  • Switch off the power.
  • Strip the wires sufficiently (approx. 5 mm) and insert them into the appropriate connection terminals of the dimmer (Figure A.6).
  • Connect the dimmer according to the drawing.
  • Place the dimmer in the flush-mounting box behind the pulse switch .
  • Note! The power should be switched on to set the dimmer. When doing so, make sure there is tension on the wires and the metal-coloured screws. Have no knowledge of electricity yourself? Then engage a professional.
  • Set the dimmer. See ‘setting the dimmer’.
  • Mount the pulse switch for the dimmer.

Setting the dimmer:

  1. Switch on dimmer;

• Switch on the connected light source by pressing the pulse switch (1).

• Using the pulse switch, set the connected light source to the desired brightness by pressing and holding the button.

• To dim faster in the other direction, release and hold the button again.

  • Setting minimum brightness;

• Using a small screwdriver, turn the ‘minus set’ adjusting screw (3) to the point that the lamp burns softly and steadily.

  • Set dimming speed;

• Turn the ‘dim speed’ adjustment screw (5) to set the desired dimming speed.

• Test the speed each time after adjusting the adjusting screw by holding down the pulse switch, thus finding the desired position.

  • Setting power memory (2);

• ON: Lamp turns on again after power failure. (TIP: Useful for use with smart outlet)

• OFF: Lamp remains off after power failure.

  • Setting lamp memory (4);

• ON: Lamp remembers its last dimming setting and restores it upon activation.

• OFF: Lamp always starts at full power on activation.

Tools:

• Small flathead screwdriver.

• Stripper, for stripping wires
